Lille is a festive city hosting major events throughout the year. Here’s the calendar of must-attend events.

Braderie de Lille – September 2026

2026 Dates: Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 September 2026

Europe’s largest flea market! 2-3 million visitors, 10,000 exhibitors, 100 km of stalls. Traditional moules-frites (500 tons consumed!). Half-marathon on Sunday morning.

Hours: Saturday 8am – Sunday 6pm (34 hours non-stop)

Tips: Book accommodation 6 months in advance. Take the train (free metro on weekends).

Christmas Market – November-December

2025-2026 Dates: November 19 – December 30, 2025

Christmas Village: Place Rihour, 90 artisan and producer chalets

Big Wheel: Grand’Place, November 19 – January 11, 2026

Activities: Lights, century-old carousel, street shows

Cultural Festivals

Lillarious (January-February): Comedy festival at Théâtre Sébastopol. 2026 dates: January 30 – February 7.

Séries Mania (March): Europe’s largest TV series festival. 2026 dates: March 20-27. World premieres, creator meetings.

Sporting Events

Lille Half-Marathon: During the Braderie, 21 km race through city streets.

Paris-Roubaix (April): The Hell of the North, legendary cobblestone cycling race.

Food Events

Lille Street Food Festival (October): At Gare Saint-Sauveur, food trucks and world cuisine. 2025 dates: October 2-5.
